The Architectural Design & Research Institute of Henan Province was established in 1953, which was the earliest and general first-class architectural design & reconnaissance institute in Henan. It possesses the first-class certificate of construction project design & reconnaissance, intelligent building system project design and general project contract. In addition, it holds the second-class certificate of city planning, municipal utility project design, the construction project surveillance and the Geotechnical Engineering construction.
At present, the Architectural Design & Research Institute of Henan Province has a 507 member staff, among which there are over 80% technicians, 162 senior engineers (architects) and 139 engineers (architects). The staff includes two Outstanding Devotion Experts, six experts awarded Government Special Subsidy, 32 Class One Register Architects (PRC.), 23 Class Two Register Architects, 53 Class One Register Structural Engineers (PRC.) and 1 Register Geotechnical Engineer (PRC.). The Institute consists of eight design departments, ten branches, and two other subsidiary companies in Shanghai and Zhuhai.
The Institute can assume various duties. First, the design of civil，industry and subterranean architecture, structure, electricity, intelligent building system, water supply and drainage, heating ventilating & air conditioning. Second, project reconnaissance, civil project test and engineering survey are all on the service list. In addition, the construction project feasibility research, project contract and surveillance, architectural decoration, substructure settlement and budget analyse all can be carried out.
“We portray the splendid with our drawing line, we contribute to the achievement of Henan’s development ”. Among about five decades, the Institute has expanded its business from Henan, China to West-Asia, East-Europe and Africa. Hundreds of architectural design and project reconnaissance items have been accomplished, such as the large, modern public and civil construction, dwelling house district planning, large and medium-sized industry workshop design, the water supply and drainage design of medium-sized and mini-sized cities.
The Institute stresses the architectural creation, advances the technology development and keeps the social credit. Since 1990s, there are 108 design, reconnaissance and researching items in the Institute acquiring the Nation and Province (Ministry) Award. Here are some latest projects: the Henan Museum, the Henan International Exposition Center, the Henan Mansion in Beijing, the Yugang Mansion, the Zhengzhou Post Mansion, the Henan Province Telecommunication Building, the Henan Province Government Office Building, the Adjudgment Hall of the Henan Province Court, the Jianye Jinshui Garden Residential District, the Minghui City Garden Residential District, the Zhengzhou Railway Station Square, Jinyun Mansion, the Shanghai Filmic & Video Paradise, the planning of the Henan Province Gymnastic Center, the Teaching Buildings of Henan University and so on. In addition, the Main Exhibition Hall of Henan Museum acquired “ the Art Creative and Achievement Award of XX UIA Congress Beijing 1999, Contemporary Chinese Architectural Art Exhibition”and “China’s Century Representative Architecture Award”.
